Is it possible to restore videos imported from digital video cameras to the digital video camera tapes? |
 |
 |
In ImageMixer, the function of exporting videos to digital video camera tapes is not available. |
|
|
 |
The fonts appear
in codes after I installed the ImageMixer software. |
 |
 |
This might be caused by a font allocation
between Imagemixer and another program in your computer.
The first option we can advice you to do in order to rectify
this font problem is this:
- If 'Adobe Type Manager' is not installed in your computer,
download and install the
'Adobe Type Manager' (ATM light) from Adobe's website.
- Start the Adobe Type Manager program. Select 'Symbol' font
from the list, and click the delete button.
- Again, select the 'ZapfDingbats' font and delete it.
- Start ImageMixer and check. The fonts should work fine.
If the above doesnt work out, then please check:
- 1. That the PC spec meets the full requirements to run
the ImageMixer application.
- That the ImageMixer was not installed in a removable (or separate)
disc. Which might cause the files to be scattered in between
discs during installation. (And that the software was installed
using Administrator authority for Windows 2000 & Windows
XP users.)
- That the USB drivers were installed correctly
during installation. (Please check that there is no question
mark on any of the drivers in your Device Manager panel.)
You can check this by Selecting “Start” -> “Control Panel”
-> “System” -> “Hardware” tab -> and click on “Device
Manager” button. (This process may vary according to your
OS so please make reference to your camera manual on how to
check/delete USB driver)
- That the language chosen during
installation process was the correct one you wished to install.
- That the language you chose during installation is compatible
with the OS you are running. Example: If the OS language of
your PC is in Italian and you chose English for language selection
during installation, there could be a font problem when running
the software. To check your OS language set up please go to
Start Menu -> Set up -> Control Panel -> Regional
Settings -> and check the tabs telling which language your
OS has been generally set to
- That you have set the screen
resolution and screen display to the required levels. Or you
can increase the screen resolution and screen size of your
PC. This can be done by going to your control panel, double
click the screen icon, click the set up tag and adjust the
screen resolution to True Colors and size to 1024x768 Pixels.
- That there is no other movie (MPEG) editing software that
might be conflicting with the ImageMixer software causing
the fonts to show up in codes.
- That there is no translating
software in the OS system that might be messing up with the
languages during installation and when running the program.
- That you have the necessary basic font need to run the program
(Please check that you have the “MS Sans Serif” font installed
in your OS.)
If the above did not work out, there could be something incompatible
with the OS you are using. Maybe you upgraded the OS in the
past causing some changes in the font display of the OS. Or
Upgrading the OS from a Windowsdows 98 or Windows 95 machine
(both of which do not reach the requirement of the software),
to a later version (windows 98 SE or later). Though the OS
in after upgrading is OK, the machine itself (CPU, Graphic
board, soundcard, fonts etc) runs on the old platform, which
might also cause the font display problem.

My disk capacity
(space) is not enough. Can I be able to install ImageMixer in
a different drive or an external drive? |
 |
 |
Yes you can.
For windows users, create a folder in the drive you are going
to install the application and install the application into
that folder.
For Macintosh, use an installer and choose the drive you want
to install the application and proceed.
|
|
|
 |
How much disk
space will the ImageMixer use if I install it? |
 |
 |
You will need 200MB for Windows users and 100MB
for Macintosh users.
|
|
|
 |
I would like
to reinstall the ImageMixer software. What should I do with
image files I have already created and are still in my hard
disk? |
 |
 |
For Windows
Since you will have to first uninstall (remove) the ImageMixer
software from your PC before reinstalling, it is safe to first
go to (HDD)-(Program Files)-(Pixela)-(ImageMixer) folder.
Then copy the (Capture)(Convert)(Userdata) folders from the
ImageMixer folder to a different location. If you had saved
files in a folder different from that created by the ImageMixer
application, you will have to do the same and copy the files
to a different location.
After reinstalling the new ImageMixer, you then copy your
files/folders into the new ImageMixer folder and you can be
able to use your images and pictures again.
For Macintosh
Copy the (Capture)(User Data)(Album library) (Convert) folders
found within the ImageMixer folder to a different location.
If you had saved files in a folder different from that created
by the ImageMixer application, you will have to do the same
and copy the files to a different location. After reinstalling
the new ImageMixer, you then copy your files/folders into
the new ImageMixer folder and you can be able to use your
pictures and images again.

|
|
 |
I cannot install
the application/software. |
 |
 |
Please check the operating enviroment of your
PC to see whether Image Mixer is compatible or not.
Also, for Windows2000 and WindowsXP enviroments, please install
with Adminstratior's authority.

 |
- Make sure your PC meets the requirements for the
software to operate. Please check the PC requirements needed
to operate Imagemixer found in your Camera's manual Or use
your explorer to view the manual document in the CD ROM.
- The resolution of your PC is not in line with that required
by the software. Increase the screen resolution and screen
size of your PC. This can be done by right clicking anywhere
on your desktop and then choose property. Click the setup
tab and adjust the screen size & resolution. Set the screen
size and resolution to level above 800x600 pixel , at above
16bit colors.
(Please note that irregular screen size/resolution like 1024x480
is not supported.)
Then press OK button and restart installing the software.
- Windows XP and Windows 2000 users, please first log in
your PC with admin authority, check screen size and resolution
before installing the software.

"imagemix.exe
application error" memory could not be read. Instruction
0x00401c2c - memory address 0x698AB58E. |
 |
 |
These are called "Stop Messages".
STOP Messages 0x00000 are related kernel problems that are
caused when the operating system attempts to load a page into
memory from the paging file on the hard drive, but is unable
to access the page, due to either a software or hardware failure.
The system generates a fault, which indicates that invalid
system memory has been referenced.
This fault can occur due to many varieties of error conditions,
such as a boot virus in the PC, a conflict with another software,
or faulty hardware (typically a defective RAM). A faulty CD
ROM drive, Disk acceleration utilities in the Hard Drive,
Bad sectors (partitioning) in the hard drive. Etc.. In these
0x00 errors, if the scan disc utility cannot correct the problem,
then the cause can be more complex than imagined. You would
have to check the PC manufacturer for advice on the particular
error. |

Imagemixer always
disappear when double clicking the capture environment. |
 |
 |
If you have been downloading images to a removable
disk, then there is a high probability that the path set in
the capture environment preferences is still pointing to the
removable disk. If this disk is unplugged, or is not connected
to the PC, and run ImageMixer, when you click on the capture
environment button, the software searches for a place to save
files that will be captured. When the path to the removable
disc is still present in the preference set up but the disc
is not connected to PC, then IM searches, reaches a dead end
and quits automatically because the place to save captured
files has vanished. My advice is to make sure the removable
disk is accessible from PC before running IM. By doing so,
IM successfully find the removable HD when the capture mode
button is clicked.
It would be better also to change the path where ImageMixer
will be saving captured files and images to the original Capture
Folder found inside the ImageMixer folder. This is the default
path set when IM is installed into all PCs. If the path to
this folder is not changed, IM can work fine. So you can advice
the user to use the default "Capture" folder to
save images and then manually copy images from this folder
to the removable disk. |

CRC error: the
file c:\program file\pixela\imagemixer\immix res.dll doesn`t
match the file in the setup.cabfile. |
 |
 |
CRC errors sometimes crop up when the HDD is partitioned
with Linux installed in one of them or when there is a Linux
path interference during the set up. If you simply restart/reboot
your PC, things should return to normal.
Also, CRC errors occurs to warn the users that there has been
a blockage in getting some data from the CD ROM during installation.
This can be due to a faulty CD ROM of a corrupted data. Below
are some solution options. Please reboot and run IM after each
solution attempt.
- Install IM in Safe Mode from the desktop.
- Clear the Temp folder, or Rename the Temp directory to
TempOld, and then create a new folder named Temp
- Uninstall IM and rename the InstallShield folder (located
in the C:\Programs Files\Common Files\ directory) to InstallShieldOld.
Then install IM again.

Cannot print
images. |
 |
 |
From the album environment, select thumbnail of
picture you wish to print, choose PRINT from thumbnail menu.
On the print layout setting window, click the printer icons
on the lower right. Here you will be able to choose your printer,
adjust printer setting and paper size.
If you cant print in certain sizes set on the imagemixer (example
4x6), then your printer does not support those sizes. What the
software does is to send the data fed to it to the printer.
So if the printer setting are not in line with the software,
some problems will arise. Please check the setting of you printer
including the sizes of papers it supports etc. |

Unknown characters,
similar to Greek fonts, appear in program. |
 |
 |
This might be caused by a font

- Again, select the 'ZapfDingbats' font and delete it.
- Start ImageMixer and check. The fonts should work fine.
If the above doesnt work out, please try out the option below:
First you need to find out the exact symbol font ImageMixer
is using and remove this font from the Font folder to a different
location but do not delete it. This will force ImageMixer
to choose the correct font next time it is started. Other
font folders are located in places such as Acrobat Reader
or ACROREAD. Also, there may be hidden font files. So, when
you find strange fonts that your ImageMixer is using, remove
these fonts plus hidden fontfiles to a different location.
entire PC including hidden files.
Also, some PCs have several versions of Acrobat reader, so
we recommend you to delete all Acrobat Reader programs, reboot
PC, re-install the ImageMixer software and then download and
install the latest version of Acrobat Reader from Adobe website.
We highly recommend not to completely delete you symbol fonts
from your PC, but move them to a different location within
the PC. They might be of use to other application. |
